Building Maintenance Tech II - Full Time, Days (Fri/Sat off)

This position typically starts at $22 per hour and works a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members begin accruing PTO starting on day one, and full‑time employees are eligible for benefits after 90 days.

Independently performs skilled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation work across multiple building trades. Resolves moderately complex equipment and facility issues, documents corrective actions, supports projects and vendors, and provides practical guidance to less-experienced technicians.

Responsibilities

• Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems and equipment including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, carpentry, architectural components, and other facility assets within authorized scope and qualifications.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, operational testing, inspections, and repairs in accordance with established schedules, standards, and safety requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation; safely use diagnostic equipment, meters, hand tools, and power tools to identify and resolve issues.
• Prioritize and complete work orders based on safety, operational impact, asset criticality, and departmental needs while documenting repairs, root causes, downtime, parts usage, and follow-up recommendations in the maintenance management system.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with internal departments, support installations, renovations, shutdowns, commissioning projects, special events, and emergency response efforts, and monitor contractor work to ensure safety, compliance, and minimal operational disruption.
• Provide guidance and technical support to Technician I team members while promoting safe work practices and knowledge sharing.
• Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, emergency protocols, internal controls, and applicable federal, state, local, and gaming regulations, maintaining all required licenses, permits, and certifications.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions, injuries, security concerns, compliance issues, equipment failures, and other hazards through established reporting channels.
• Protect confidential information and safeguard company assets, including equipment, tools, materials, keys, and access credentials

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least three years of progressively responsible maintenance experience in commercial, industrial, hospitality, gaming, institutional, multifamily, or similar environments, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in at least two building trades with working knowledge of additional trades; ability to read technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and work orders; proficiency with CMMS platforms, email, mobile applications, and standard business technology. A valid driver's license may be required.
• Trade school certification, apprenticeship training, or industry credentials in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or mechanical systems, including EPA Section 608 certification when required.
• Experience with building automation systems, commercial kitchens, hotel operations, gaming facilities, life-safety systems, or related environments, along with OSHA, aerial lift, forklift, lockout/tagout, confined-space, or similar safety training.
• Working knowledge of commercial building systems, maintenance practices, tools, materials, and workplace hazards, with the ability to troubleshoot issues, determine appropriate corrective actions, recognize limitations of authorized work scope, and escalate when necessary.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with guests, employees, vendors, and leadership, and consistently report to work ready to perform assigned duties.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow safety requirements, complete documentation, and respond to emergencies; additional language skills are a plus.
• Multi-trade troubleshooting, safety and risk awareness, work planning and prioritization, guest service, technical documentation, judgment and escalation, teamwork and coaching, and continuous improvement.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, lift up to 50 pounds independently, work at heights or in confined spaces, and safely perform duties in indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, weather conditions, and other physical demands of the role.

• Work is performed throughout a 24/7 hospitality and gaming environment and may include evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, emergency call-ins, on-call assignments, exposure to tobacco smoke, crowds, chemicals, energized equipment, hot surfaces, and other conditions typical of casino and hotel operations.
• Must obtain and maintain all required licenses, registrations, certifications, training, gaming credentials, and other qualifications necessary for assigned duties, while meeting company requirements for background screening, driving eligibility, and drug testing where applicable.
• Work involving regulated trades or specialized systems must be performed only by appropriately authorized or licensed personnel.
• Completes work safely, accurately, and efficiently with minimal disruption to guests and operations; maintains thorough documentation; communicates unresolved issues and resource needs; demonstrates professionalism and respect; protects company assets; supports team success; and maintains required technical proficiency through ongoing training and development.
