BLS + ACLS + NRP\n Required:\n \n BLS/CPR\n ACLS\n NRP\n STABLE\n Preferred, but NOT required.\n That's nice because a candidate without STABLE can still qualify.3. Must Float to Nursery/NICU\n The candidate must be willing to float/help in:\n \n Newborn Nursery\n NICU\n \n The description specifically calls this "Helping Hands."\n So I wouldn't necessarily interpret this as:\n "You're taking a full NICU assignment."\n It's more of a support/assist role, but the traveler needs to be comfortable doing it.\n Unit\n The unit has approximately:19 beds/rooms\n The nurse works across several areas:\n L&D → Mother/Baby → GYN\n This is a pretty broad OB assignment.\n Patient Population\n They care for:L&D\n \n Normal deliveries\n High-risk patients\n Laboring patients\n Delivery/recovery\n Postpartum\n \n Mom/baby couplets\n Postpartum care\n Newborn care\n GYN\n \n GYN surgical patients\n Post-op care\n \n So this is not a pure L&D floor.\n A traveler needs to be comfortable moving between different patient populations.\n ‍⚕️ Ratios\n This is actually one of the better parts of the job.L&D\n 1:1 or 1:2Mother/Baby\n 1:3 coupletsGYN\n 4 patientsMixed assignment\n If caring for a combination of mom/babies + GYN:\n 1:5–6\n That's reasonable for a combined OB/GYN unit.\n Fetal Monitoring\n Required skill:\n Fetal monitoring\n They use:\n \n Fetal monitors\n OBIX documentation\n Centralized L&D monitoring\n \n So I'd want a candidate who is comfortable interpreting fetal heart rate strips independently.\n ️ EMR\n There's actually a split system:L&D\n OBIXGYN\n Epic\n So don't just ask:\n "Do you have Epic?"\n I'd specifically ask about OBIX/L&D fetal monitoring documentation as well.\n ‍⚕️ Job Duties\n The nurse will handle:\n \n L&D patient care\n High-risk labor\n Delivery care\n Postpartum mom/baby\n GYN post-op patients\n Fetal monitoring\n Newborn support\n Nursery/NICU helping hands\n \n This is a well-rounded OB RN position.\n Trauma / Facility\n Acute care\n The listing doesn't provide a trauma level.\n I wouldn't advertise this as a Trauma I/II job unless you verify that separately.\n Pay\n Bill Rate: $107/hr\n OT: $117/hr\n Charge: $110/hr\n Holiday: $117/hr\n Again, these are bill rates, not the traveler's pay.Guaranteed:\n 36 hours/week\n That's the number I'd focus on when comparing packages.\n Local Traveler Rule\n This is important:No local travelers within 80 miles.\n If the candidate has a permanent address within 80 miles of Bismarck, they're not eligible as a local traveler.\n For a true traveler coming from outside the area, that's not an issue.\n ⚠️ Sanford Previous Employee Rule\n This is a submission requirement.\n You MUST note if the candidate has ever worked for Sanford Health.\n If they previously worked for Sanford:Their end date must be at least 6 months before submission.\n So I'd ask this during your initial screening:\n "Have you ever worked for Sanford Health in any capacity?"\n Scrubs\n Navy blue scrubs\n There is a slight distinction:\n \n GYN / Mother-Baby → Navy blue\n L&D → Hospital-provided scrubs are available\n \n Pretty easy compliance item.\n Orientation\n The posting says:\n 36 hours of orientation for travelers.\n Top-level listing says orientation 8 hours, but the detailed unit information specifically says 36 hours, so I'd use 36 hours as the working assumption and verify with Medical Solutions if you're calculating pay.\n ❌ Cancellation\n Client can cancel:\n Up to 12 hours per 13-week assignment.\n That's only one 12-hour shift, which is considerably better than the French Hospital and Utah jobs we just looked at.\n Ideal Candidate\n I'd target an RN with:\n L&D / Mother-Baby / GYN\n \n 3+ years L&D\n Recent L&D experience\n Postpartum/Mother-Baby\n GYN/post-op experience\n High-risk delivery experience\n Fetal monitoring\n BLS\n ACLS\n NRP\n STABLE preferred\n Epic experience\n OBIX experience is a plus\n Comfortable with newborn nursery/NICU support\n Comfortable working some days\n Comfortable EOW/rotating weekends\n Comfortable holidays\n Willing to float\n No Sanford employment within previous 6 months\n 1. 36 Guaranteed Hours\n Good guaranteed weekly hours.2.
