AI and Distributed Systems Backend Engineer - Manager - Consulting - Location OPEN Location: New York, Anywhere in Country Key Responsibilities In this role, you will identify and define user/customer requirements, focusing on developing user interfaces across mobile, web, and tablet platforms. You will engage in coding, programming, and creating specifications to deliver services aligning with business needs. Develop solutions to complex problems, recommend changes to policies, and establish procedures that impact your work area. Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Provide direction and feedback to team members, ensuring successful task completion. Engage regularly with external clients, actively participating in working sessions and leading workstreams from planning through execution and closure. Solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals. Experience with unit testing or TDD. Strong communication skills with staff at all levels. Self‑motivated, quick learner across languages and technologies. Analytical mind with problem‑solving aptitude. Preferred Qualifications Passion for delivering commercial software products and platforms to market. Deep technical expertise and continuous learning mindset. Excellent communication across developers, clients, partners, and executives. Hands‑on experience with technology and execution. Strong understanding of modern software engineering processes. Experience managing change effectively. Track record of leading teams successfully. Benefits and Compensation We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. Base salary range in the US: $142,600 to $261,500. In the New York City metro area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento): $171,200 to $297,200. Hybrid work model: most external roles will work together in person 40‑60% of the time over the course of an engagement or year.
