Resident Care SupervisorThe Detroit Free Press has ranked Homestead as a TOP WORKPLACE, and we are hiring!Homestead provides care in a Senior Living Facility in Westland and is hiring a Resident Care Supervisor who will act as a key point of contact for residents, business leaders, managers, and families to ensure that company goals and milestones are met.The supervisor will lead the caregivers with a positive attitude and respond to all the needs of the residents. This is an on-call position. Must have good communication skills with all levels of staff and management. Previous experience caring for seniors and managing care staff is a requirement. This position will be helping our dementia residents. Love for seniors is a must!Previous experience caring for seniors, managing care staff and able to be on-call as needed, are requirements. Full time, First shift 7:00am 3:00pm.Duties include but not limited to:Maintain employee filesReview shift supervisor checklistsCover open shifts as needed, including call offs. Keep on-call phoneAssist residents with care: dressing, bathing and toiletingFollow up on issues, review 24 hours logs –corrective actions for med errors, absences, etc.Assess any care complaintsPayroll – review for missed punches, missed lunches etc. and follow upEnter shift pick-ups and shift tradesCreate schedules for staff and prepare shift assignmentsSchedule and interview applicantsConduct QA audits, review Incident reports/med errors and put interventions/training in place – involve nurse as necessaryMeet with each new admit to discuss needs and expectations, audit of med waiver and private pay charting, updates to med waiver counselors, med cart audit every other weekOrder clinical suppliesConduct monthly care audit on all resident assistants, conduct monthly med pass audit on all med tech's,Ensure government forms are completed and correctBenefits:Opportunities for advancementMedical, dental and vision insuranceEmployee recognition eventsPaid time offRequirements needed:Prior experience managing a senior living facility (2 years). Dementia unit is a plusAble to be on-call for all three shifts, as neededAbility to handle multiple priorities effectively and delegate responsibilities to the appropriate individualsExcellent written and verbal skills for effective communication and the ability to facilitate small group presentationsProficient in organizational, time management skillsDemonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skillsDemonstration of proficiency in computer skillsAbility to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours as needed for resident care/services, must be available to our residents at peak service times and as needed
