Purpose Statement: The CCA substitute Speech and Language Pathologist plays a vital role in furthering the mission of Calvary Christian Academy and will work in the capacity for which they are hired. As a substitute, the individual will teach, train, lead, guide, and follow the lesson plans to properly instruct the students in their care. As a substitute, the individual must take ownership of the assigned role so that students are always well supervised and taught per the provided plans.

Scope: The position is multifaceted in that the individual takes on the tasks of another staff member who is absent. As a substitute, this person is in constant contact with children, school staff, parents, and church staff.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Model Christ in word and deed while:
• Adhering to professional standards and dress code
• Providing therapy to students with provided lesson plans
• Following CCA Staff regulations, guidelines, procedures
• Providing a safe environment for kids

Qualifications/Skills/Gifts:

• A love to teach as unto the Lord and lead/live by the Word
• Willing to live a life above reproach and that is aligned with our Leadership Covenant
• Excellent interpersonal skills with regards to colleagues, substitutes and students
• Love for children and a desire to see that they have a right relationship with Jesus Christ
• Organized and flexible with people, schedules, and good at following schedules
• Patience of job, with a calm spirit
• Love to serve the Lord in all areas of life
• Be able to lift 40 lbs
• Able to bend, and be flexible around kids
• Master's in Speech Pathology
• Florida License in Speech Pathology
• Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (which is a national certification)
• Ability to lead and communicate with children
• Ability to multi-task and become easily oriented
• The ability to be "with it" and monitor groups of children with a positive disciplinary approach
• Ability to be flexible and open to coming at the last minute and filling the gap where needs are evident
