Position Overview As a Tooling Specialist, you play a critical role in ensuring tooling reliability and dimensional accuracy to uphold product quality in a high-speed, continuous manufacturing environment. The Tooling Specialist is a highly skilled role that focuses on maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the precision of tooling and dies, particularly for neckers and front-end (FE) equipment. With advanced mechanical expertise, the specialist performs precision machining tasks, interprets technical blueprints, plans and coordinates maintenance activities (including with external vendors), and supports major equipment rebuilds. This role also contributes to capital projects and continuous improvements initiatives aimed at minimizing downtime and maximizing tooling lifecycle and line efficiency. Candidate must be able to accommodate a rotating swing shift schedule. Schedule is 4 days on/4 days off; rotates days to nights every four weeks. Can line starts at 5:45 AM/PM and ends at 6:00 PM/AM. Competencies High Precision Maintenance: executes maintenance with focus on accuracy and tolerance compliance Technical Blueprint Interpretation: reads and applies technical drawings for machining and tooling work Tooling Reliability Focus: understands the impact of tooling condition on product quality and machine performance Mechanical Expertise: applies advanced knowledge of manufacturing and industrial equipment Planning and Coordination: effectively organizes and aligns tasks with vendors, crews, and schedules Root Cause & Process Improvement: participates in problem-solving and implements corrective/preventive actions Inventory Discipline: maintains detailed records and applies tooling lifecycle best practices Safety and Quality Mindset: consistently applies standards to protect people, equipment, and output Skills Precision machining and die maintenance Interpretation of mechanical and technical blueprints Advanced Knowledge of industrial and manufacturing equipment (preferred on Necker and Front-End tooling) Equipment rebuild and alignment procedures Tool and die inventory management systems Downtime tracking and root cause documentation CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) familiarity Vendor communication and maintenance planning Accountabilities Ensure tooling accuracy and functionality, perform high-precision maintenance, repair, and replacement of tooling and dies to meet tolerance and quality standards Improve tooling reliability, monitor and act on tooling performance to prevent failures and ensure consistent product quality Interpret blueprints and machining specs, use technical drawings to guide accurate machining and tooling tasks Support rebuilds and capital projects, contribute technical expertise to equipment rebuilds and process improvements initiatives Coordinate maintenance activities, plan and align work with vendors and teams to minimize downtime Reduce downtime through root cause actions, support problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts targeting equipment availability Manage tooling inventory, track usage, wear, and replacement needs to maintain availability and performance Follow safety and quality standards, apply safety procedures and maintain high standards in all maintenance tasks Qualifications & Experience 5+ Years of related experience High School Diploma or Equivalent Technical Qualification (Mechanics, Tool & Die, Mechatronics, or related fields) Computer skills Compensation & Benefits Starting Hourly Rate: $41.84 This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan. Onsite Work Environment: This position is based in Winter Haven, FL and requires regular in‑person engagement by working on‑site.
