Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: Current BLS certification required Current ACLS certification required Current PALS certification required Current TNCC certification required Must-Have: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred Description: The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This role involves providing routine and complex care, with the ability to plan long-range goals. The nurse continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates tasks to other care providers to help manage clinical situations. Meets the expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Uses the appropriate protocol to administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources to enhance patient care.
