REGISTERED NURSE - MED SURG - TELEMETRY, KELEMEN 8 NORTH

Registered RN Position

The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.

Responsibilities include:

• Following established policies and procedures.
• Communicating openly with internal customers and supervisors.
• Providing excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.
• Applying Cooper core values.
• Other duties as required.

Kelemen 8 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, illnesses, and disease processes. North and South 8 have telemetry capabilities for our patients. Kelemen 8 has frequent admissions and discharges.

Kelemen 8 can accept a total of 77 patients. The North side houses 37 patients, and the South side houses 36 patients. There are two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room.

There is a pharmacist present on the unit to assist the RNs with medication questions/concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur every Monday through Friday. Rounds involve all aspects of the healthcare team, including the patient and family.

Education Requirements:

• Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing

License/Certification Requirements:

• Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse);
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers);
• Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e., ACLS, NALS, PALS)
