The Goddard School of Fairfax is currently looking for a full-time (40 hours/week) Twos Teacher who will encourage children to be lifelong learners by creating meaningful experiences that will foster their curiosity, and development from a young age. If you are interested in being the founding teacher in our new school, ready to be a role model and make a difference in the lives of children, compassionate & collaborative and looking to form lasting relationships with children, colleagues and families, The Goddard School of Fairfax is the right fit for you! What You'll DoOverview of Role:
Our teachers are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of their assigned classroom. Lead Teachers will plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for children in a safe environment. Teachers will work directly with children and parents daily to build strong relationships and provide quality service.
- Advancing physical and intellectual competence by adapting program activities to meet the individual needs of the children
- Providing positive guidance by supporting social and emotional development
- Communicate with parents daily, sharing their children's latest adventures
- Engage with other childcare professionals and continue to grow in your profession
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred), or
- Child Development Associate (CDA) (preferred), or
- Current and active enrollment in an accredited Associates, Bachelors degree program, or CDA (preferred), or
- High School diploma with more than one year experience in childcare, daycare, preschool, or school setting
- Must be able to work between the hours of 7:00AM - 6:00PM
- Experience with potty training
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be flexible
- CPR/First Aid Certification (required)
- Fairfax, VA 22030: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
