Position: Adjunct Professor of Math Location: Wake Forest, NC Job Id: 108 # of Openings: 1 Job Summary: Thales College seeks an Adjunct Professor to teach 1–2 basic college‑level math courses to non‑majors, and potentially an Introduction to Physics course, beginning July 2026. Instruction will be in‑person. Description Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction on a part‑time, temporary basis. Responsibilities include: Delivering course content in person to undergraduate Business and Liberal Arts students, including lecture and tutorial instruction. Overseeing all assignments, grading, and maintaining accurate records of student work and attendance. Providing one course of four hours of in‑class instruction per week for nine weeks. Course Topics College Algebra: Core algebraic skills; solving equations and inequalities; working with functions such as linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric; exploring systems of equations, graphing techniques, and real‑world applications. Introduction to Calculus: Limits; continuity, derivatives and applications; antiderivatives; the fundamental theorem of calculus; exponential and logarithmic functions; analysis of rates of change, modeling growth and decay, finding areas under curves, and solving practical problems. Qualifications Alignment with the vision and values of Thales College: Minimum of a Master’s degree in mathematics or a related field required.
