Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician works on all aspects of maintenance for the facility. The Maintenance Technician’s focus is to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the equipment while maintaining a safe and cost controlled work environment.Starting Pay: Based on experienceWork schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - FridayQuarterly profit sharing bonus opportunityAnnual holiday bonus based on company performanceOpportunity to work overtime401k retirement contribution matching - 50% company match up to 6% of your annual wagesCompany covers about 80% of the cost of medical insurance for you and your familyCompany covers 100% of the cost for a life-insurance policyCompany covers 100% of the cost for both short and long term disability insurance policiesChildren of long-term employees can apply for company scholarshipsPaid personal time available for use as it accrues (max of 52 hours per year)One week of paid vacation after 6 monthsTwo weeks of paid vacation after one yearAttend all scheduled safety, department, and company meetings as required.Follow and enforce company safety polices and safe work practices at all times to ensure safety of self and othersRepair, service, and inspect facility equipment and property including:Overhead CranesProduction machineryMaterial handling equipmentBuilding and componentsGround operated machineryDriveways and facility groundsResearch and conform to original equipment manufacturers (OEM) maintenance specifications (as closely as possible) Deviations from the OEM specifications must be approved by the Facility ManagerKeep detailed and accurate maintenance records in accordance with SPS Quality Policy in SAP PMMaintain and organized and clean maintenance shopComply with all SPS policies and OSHA guidelines that impact the maintenance department (not limited to the following):Lock out / Tag outSafety Data SheetsHazardous Material UsageTrain and coach new Maintenance personnelProcure parts and supplies to ensure equipment up-time.Maintain and report expenses for department within budgetary guidelinesWorking In a yard or warehouse facility within OSHA guidelines; conditions may be heated and/or unheated, dusty and noisy; steel-toed boots required dailyFacility is a multiple shift operation. Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule and be on-call at various times including possible weekends and holidays.Fast-paced moderately stressful, constantly changing day to day work environmentAbility to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to eight hours per shift. Capable of ascending and descending material handling equipmentAbility to lift up to 51 pounds as needed. Pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 poundsAbove ground repairs often involving personal lifting equipment (platforms or extendable booms).Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts or chemicals.Wear proper PPE at all times (as described in company policy).High school diploma or GEDThree years of related maintenance experienceDetail-oriented and excellent observational skillsProven experience operating material handling equipmentAbility to read and understand prints, documents, and/or drawingsKnowledge of electricity (110, 230, and 460 voltage), hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics.Basic computer skills (data entry and equipment research)Valid driver's licenseGood verbal and written communication skillsSafety OrientationAchievement orientationResponsibilityTeamworkPersistenceKnowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality ProceduresTechnical school or equivalent training or equivalent work experienceCertificate of Electrical Safety (COES)Learning agilityExposure to Lean ManufacturingContinuous improvement / quality managementEqual opportunity employer.
