Job Description

Job Description

Openings are available for licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) due to upcoming maternity leaves across several campuses in the Houston metro area. These contract assignments begin at various points starting in early January 2027 and extend through the end of the year. Please review campus locations and commute requirements carefully; these sites span different regions of Houston, and manageable travel is essential for timely daily coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Current, active Texas SLPA license required (proof must be provided with application)
  • Previous school-based experience as an SLPA or SLP is necessary
  • Reliable transportation and ability to commute to assigned campuses—please confirm commute feasibility (30 miles or less preferred)
  • On-site work only; remote options are not available
  • Strong communication skills, professional demeanor, and flexibility in working with multiple campus teams

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech and language therapy services under SLP supervision in an educational setting
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SLPs, and campus staff to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate documentation and student records in accordance with district and state guidelines
  • Adhere to all assigned campus schedules and policies, adjusting as needed for campus-specific needs
  • Communicate regularly with supervising SLP regarding student goals, challenges, and successes

Assignments begin on these dates, pending campus assignment: 1/4/27, 1/18/27, 2/1/27, and 3/15/27. Interested professionals should confirm their ability to start on the required schedule and specify campus preferences.

If you are an experienced school-based SLPA with a current Texas license and are available for a maternity leave coverage contract, submit your resume and license verification today. Clearly indicate your preferred campus/campuses, outline your relevant experience, and confirm commute feasibility. Interviews and placements will occur promptly for qualified candidates—apply now to secure your spot.
