Bus Driver

The Bus Driver will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, as well as on field trips and other school-related activities. The successful candidate will be reliable, punctual, and have a strong commitment to student safety. Routes are 5-6 hours a day with weekly field/athletic trips available. Single subscriber healthcare insurance is also available.

The district will pay for training to obtain your CDL!

Responsibilities:

• Operate a school bus in a safe and efficient manner
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe bus
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
• Maintain accurate records of daily routes and student ridership
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required
• Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director

Requirements:

• Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early morning and afternoon hours
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in stressful situations
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Prior experience as a bus driver preferred, but not required.
