Location: Nashville, TN (Metro)

Environment: Hybrid (4 days per week in office, 1 day remote)

Compensation: $100,000- $110,000 Base, plus benefits and bonus eligibility

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join an industry-leading organization to manage key efforts for the financial team. One key focus of this role will be fixed asset accounting and achieving compliance with ASC 842 for Leases. This team oversees all aspects of financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliation and analysis, and preparation of GAAP financial statements and disclosures. Responsibilities: Accounting Manager

• Manage processes relating to Fixed Assets and Equipment Asset Management, conduct analyses, resolve discrepancies, and report on metrics as requested by management.
• Lead team implementation of changes to comply with ASC 842 regarding a small population of leases and drafting of necessary footnote disclosures.
• Recommend to management and draft any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets, leasing, depletion, and inventory.
• Evaluate and make improvements to accounting processes.
• Provide leadership to acquisition purchase accounting documentation and adjustments as they pertain to fixed assets and inventory.
• Record fixed asset acquisitions, dispositions, and inter-company and intra-company transfers in the accounting system.
• Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
• Reconcile balances in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
• Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets and depletion for all mineral reserves.
• Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
• Actively participate in monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting close processes by performing activities, including account reconciliations, journal entry preparations, management reports, as well as other financial analyses and reports that may be required by the management.
• Record and track monthly asphalt, aggregate, and captive shop inventory changes.
• Prepare audit schedules relating to inventory and assist the auditors in their inquiries.

Requirements: Accounting Manager

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA Preferred)
• 5+ years of Accounting and Financial Reporting experience
• 2+ years of experience leading a team of direct reports
• Ability to analyze processes and lead continuous improvement efforts for the department
• Experience with financial statement preparation and GAAP research
• Advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of FASB requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Experience working with an ERP system, Oracle experience preferred
• Experience working with IBM Planning and Analysis is a plus
