Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pharmacy professional is needed to support warehouse operations in a six-month contract role. This position focuses on managing medication inventory and ensuring safe storage and distribution within compliance standards.
Location:
- Arlington Heights, IL
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of medications, including refrigerated and specialty products
- Manage inventory levels by ordering medications and supplies, minimizing waste or expired items
- Ensure proper storage conditions and compliance with USP standards and state/federal regulations
- Verify medication orders prior to preparation or shipment
- Supervise pharmacy technicians in inventory, picking, packing, and shipping tasks
- Coordinate with sterile compounding pharmacists and technicians to maintain adequate supplies for patient orders
- Review controlled substance inventory and maintain necessary documentation
- Perform cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and quality assurance audits
- Collaborate with purchasing, nursing, and operations teams to ensure timely medication delivery
- Utilize pharmacy software and inventory management systems effectively
Qualifications:
- Active and clear Illinois pharmacist license
- Experience and working knowledge of IV medication handling preferred
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills
- Familiarity with USP guidelines and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency with pharmacy inventory software
