Reports To: Director of Food Service

Work Year: 10 Months

Compensation & Hours: $13/hour; hours as needed

Job Goal

The Substitute Food Service Worker supports the United Community School District food service program by assisting in the preparation and service of nutritious, high-quality meals for students. This position helps ensure meals are provided in a safe, efficient, and positive environment while supporting the overall operation of the district's food service program.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent experience or training in food service Ability to work cooperatively and positively with students, staff, and community members Effective communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to maintaining good personal hygiene and safe food handling practices

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and meal service following established procedures Follow all applicable federal, state, and district food safety, sanitation, and health regulations Support daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient and organized service Maintain the quality, appearance, and proper handling of food items Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to perform a variety of food service duties as assigned The responsibilities listed are representative of the position.
