CNC Programmer

Job Title: CNC Engineer / Machining Specialist OverviewWe are seeking an experienced CNC Engineer / Machining Specialist to join our team at our Chittenango facility. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of advanced machining techniques, 3D modeling, CNC programming, and Lean Manufacturing principles. This role requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams to ensure high-quality production and continuous process improvement. Key ResponsibilitiesApply advanced mathematical concepts in machining and manufacturing processes.Program, operate, and troubleshoot 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines.Demonstrate expertise with various materials, tooling, fixtures, fixture design, and part holding techniques.Analyze production processes, solve problems, and provide actionable solutions to improve efficiency and quality.Collaborate with management, engineering, purchasing, and shop floor staff to complete estimates, provide process feedback, and resolve manufacturing issues.Create and maintain training materials for shop floor employees and provide hands-on training.Utilize 3D modeling software to design, analyze, and optimize parts and assemblies.Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste and elevate productivity.Participate in the startup of new equipment and ensure all equipment controls are properly defined and maintained.Adhere to AS9100 and ISO procedures and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.Communicate effectively with internal and external teams at all levels of the organization.Work flexible hours and demonstrate reliability as needed to meet production schedules. QualificationsEducation High School Diploma or GED required.Associate’s Degree or certification in a related field preferred. Experience3–5 years of experience in CNC programming and operation of CNC machines.Proficiency with 3D modeling software and G-code programming.Familiarity with motion control and vision systems.Experience with troubleshooting control systems and interpreting technical drawings.Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) practices.Experience with Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) programming is a plus.
