Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with active CA licensure and critical care skills for a night shift position requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit of an acute care hospital
• Preferred experience in Trauma Level II settings
• Required skills include arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and IV therapy
• Respiratory skills needed: ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, suctioning, and high flow nasal cannula care
• Cardiovascular skills needed: titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, dysrhythmia management, and 12 lead EKG acquisition
• Neurological skills needed: CVA/acute stroke management, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care, and hypothermia protocol experience
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required at start
• PALS and TNCC required within 180 days of hire
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Preferred experience with Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, and post cardiac surgery care
• Preferred experience in CABG and GI surgery patient care
• Preferred phlebotomy skills
• Skilled in blood product administration, continuous IV sedation, and continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

• Collaborate with physicians, patients, and families to ensure effective communication and continuity of care
• Adhere to hospital policies and industry best practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a travamotravel employee
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday RTO request approved
• Holiday RTO restrictions apply for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
