Program Manager
Location: Vienna, Virginia (Hybrid)
Role Overview
The position requires an individual to plan, manage, and execute all aspects of life-cycle projects from inception through implementation. This role is responsible for developing project plans and delivering solutions on schedule and within budget. These projects support service innovations and organizational and process changes or enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective management of projects from inception through implementation.
- Define, develop, and execute project plans, including scope, expectations, activities, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Work with business groups to determine and understand business requirements.
- Manage projects through the planning, analysis, design, testing, implementation, and transition phases.
- Direct and lead project teams by developing and coordinating work plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Manage project budgets, including the risk and impact of changes to project plans.
- Identify, communicate, and resolve concerns that may impede or impact project initiatives.
- Provide project status reports to management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project management and related issues.
- Manage relationships with vendors and participate in contract negotiations.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, or experience is required.
Experience: Extensive project management experience overseeing multiple, large, complex projects is required. This includes expertise in developing and managing relationships across business units and experience in leading, guiding, and mentoring others.
Skills: Advanced knowledge of project lifecycles, project management methodologies, and business requirements analysis is necessary. Proficiency with PC and related software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, and project management applications, is expected. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- An Advanced Degree in Business, Management, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of financial institution operations.
- PMP Certification or commensurate experience managing corporate-wide projects.
