The Spire network spans the Northeast and is continuing to grow.Responsibilities/Duties:Provides hands-on care to patients in PACU under the direction of the RN in PACU and Pre-Op as neededPerform routine tasks under the supervision of the RNTake vital signs; temperature, pulse, respiration rate and blood pressure as needed once competency is completed and verified by RN and report all readings to the RNAnswer patient calls for help and determine if additional help is neededObserve patients’ physical, mental and emotional conditions. Report any abnormal changes or patterns in each patient to RN promptlyAssist with providing patient nourishment with RN direction post-operativelyCheck patients’ glucose as directed by RN once competency is completed and verified by RNClean and make beds and chairs after each patient use and perform light housekeeping duties as needed. Assis with bed flow to pre-op as needed.Accompany patients to their cars upon discharge to ensure safe discharge is completedClean and turn over patient bays after discharge, including all monitors and equipment usedHelp prepare patient “packs” for closet and bedsStore and move supplies, including the distribution of linen to all departments, and order supplies as neededRestock patient supplies in each patient bay on a daily basisFollow proper procedures for lifting and moving patients. Assist in transport of patients and their families between departmentsPerform monthly duties such as terminal cleans for bays and for stretchers; maintain documentation in logs as appropriateObserve all surgical regulations while in restricted areaMaintain effective communication with team members at all times and ask for help or clarification of task if neededAssist in Medical Records as needed.
