Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position at a Level 3 Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of Med Surg/Oncology experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

Details

• Surgical/Oncology unit caring for orthopedic, urology, general surgery, oncology, and medical patients
• 12-hour night shifts from 1900-0700
• Every third weekend required
• Floating required within the same discipline across local campuses
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• NIHSS certification required (can be obtained during onboarding)
• 2+ years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience required
• High-acuity care experience preferred
• Required to administer Heparin, PCA, and epidural drips
• Chemo drip administration experience required if certified
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg required
• One supervisory reference/performance evaluation from within the last two years required
• Valid driver's license required

• Level 3 Trauma Center setting
• Deliver professional nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
• Limited to 1 day off request during the 11/25-11/29 and 12/23-12/27 holiday periods
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UPH market within 12 months of separation
