Material Handler - Night Shift

Under the direction of the Logistics Supervisor and or Department Supervisor the Material Handler maintains distribution of materials between the production floor and inventory; loading and unloading; delivering production materials and supplies to production floor; staging finished product in designated inventory location; general housekeeping in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures. Classification: Full-Time-Hourly Reports To: Shift Supervisor Shifts: 6PM-6AM based on a 2-2-3 schedule (overtime as needed based on business needs). Compensation & Growth: Competitive starting pay of $18-$21/hr, plus career growth opportunities with potential to earn higher wages (up to $32/hr) as you advance within Pregis. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Safely drive a forklift to stage material, load trucks, unloading trucks and transfer material within the plant and within departments as needed. * Keeps Safety at the forefront of team's thinking and approach to work. * Communicates and ensures all safety procedures are strictly adhered to. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. * Skills/Qualifications: Organization, dealing with complexity, time management, process improvement, safety management, forklift operation, inventory control, lifting. * Assists to maintain a safe, well organized, FIFO (first in, first out) controlled warehouse per Pregis Best Practice. * Maintains inventory by identifying and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory. * Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling and securing product in correct location. * Be a reliable member of the team, always identifying and professionally communicating ways to improve the work environment. * Performs related duties as assigned. * Other responsibilitiesas directed or required. Competency: * Ability to take coaching well and communicates respectfully with others * Promote positive teamwork culture * Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with team and during shift transition * Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture Qualifications and/or Experience: * 1+ years of sit-down forklift experience * 1+ years of inventory control experience * Experience with Inventory Control/Warehouse Management software (ex. SAP) is a plus! * High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Environment: * Exposure to moving equipment * Inside work * Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit * Humidity may exceed 80% * Noise may exceed 85dB+ * Personal Protective Equipment required Physical Characteristics: * Frequent standing, stooping, sitting * Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling #PFC1
