Position: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Location: Stanhope, NJ

Shift: Monday-Friday; 8am-4pm

Job Description:

Provide individual and/or group counseling, behavioral interventions, diagnostic evaluations or consultations related to the individual’s developmental disability and necessary for the individual to acquire or maintain appropriate interactions with others provided by the Behavior Supports provider at the Assessment/Plan Development rate. Intervention modalities must relate to an identified challenging behavioral need of the individual. Specific criteria for remediation of the behavior shall be established. The provider(s) shall be identified in the Service Plan and shall have the minimum qualification level necessary to achieve the specific criteria for remediation. Behavioral Supports includes a complete assessment of the challenging behavior(s), development of a structured behavioral modification plan, implementation of the plan, ongoing training and supervision of caregivers and behavioral aides, and periodic reassessment of the plan.

All providers of Behavioral Supports services (assessment/plan development and monitoring) must comply with the standards set forth in the Community Care Program Policies & Procedures Manual. In addition, Behavioral Supports providers shall complete State/Federal Criminal Background checks, Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI) checks, and Central Registry checks for all staff, drug tests as applicable under Stephen Komninos’ Law, and ensure that all staff successfully completes the training described in Community Care Program Policies & Procedures Manual; Section 17.2.5.3.

Essential Duties:

Qualifications:

The employee must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training and essential duties to include the following; but not limited to:

Agency approved Crisis Management and recertification annually.

Initial Preventing Abuse and Neglect with on-site competency assessment and annually thereafter.

Positive Behavior Supports.

12 hours of professional development annually per calendar year prorated at one hour per month.

Specialized Training as required.

The employee shall be 18 years of age or older and possess a driver’s license valid in the State of New Jersey (probational licenses are not accepted).

The employee must submit to a criminal background check, and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to working with individuals.

The employee must agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities.

The employees hired after 6/15/2018 shall submit to drug testing prior to employment.

All direct care employees shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause.

All employees shall complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI);

All employees must demonstrate successful completion of a Pre-employment physical; Pre-employment tuberculosis test as required by The State of New Jersey Department of Human Services.

Clearance based on a 3-year and annual motor vehicle abstract assessment.

Benefit Description:

Eligible employees may participate in the health insurance plan subject to all terms and conditions of the agreement between Capitol Care and the insurance carrier. Health insurance is offered to eligible employees and will be effective on their ninetieth day of employment. Dental and Vision benefits are offered after the eligible employee's sixth month of employment.

Upon initial eligibility the employee in a Director's role is eligible to accrue up to 25 PTO days each year (7.70 hours shall accrue after completion of every 80 hours of work). These 25 PTO days include New Jersey's required 5 paid days of sick leave.
