This Company strategy necessitates an A+ accounting team. Mission of the Role: The Accountant will be a critical team member within the organization reporting directly to the Accounting Manager. He /she will have extensive involvement in establishing accounting controls and policies to support the Company as it grows. The Accountant must have superior organization and communication skills, while maintaining strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. He / she should possess excellent knowledge of accounting regulation and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This individual will participate heavily in the month-end close process for Southern Air, working closely with the locations and Accounting Manager to ensure financial reporting integrity. This role will also provide support to the broader accounting team by assisting with audit assistance, system implementation testing, and other special project work as needed. The Accountant will also be highly involved in the year-end audit process for Southern Air by providing support as requested. The successful candidate must demonstrate initiative and have the ability to work with limited supervision. The Accountant is responsible for executing the accounting and transactional functions for their specific Southern Air entities, while maintaining ownership of assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts. This position collaborates closely with operational leadership, entity management, and the broader accounting team. Responsibilities and skills: The Accountant will play a key support role in ensuring accurate and auditable financial statements. Job responsibilities and required skills include: Record transactions daily in Sage Intacct and possess advance knowledge of general ledger functions Work efficiently in MS Excel Work closely with multiple Southern Air Entities to manage accounts receivable function Maintain accurate Fixed Asset and Depreciation schedules Prepare journal entries and perform monthly account reconciliations Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Analyze monthly financial results and investigate account variances Perform an accurate and timely month-end and year-end close process, prepare balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis Assist with providing external auditors all requested materials, in conjunction with annual financial statement audit Identify opportunities for efficiency and implement streamlined procedures where possible Execute the individual and team goals that support strategic and operational initiatives Contribute to team culture Experience: 2+ years of prior accounting experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred Ability to communicate accounting and financial information into common language Personal Characteristics: Excellent communicator – written and oral Resourceful – figures out how to achieve results creatively with finite resources Stellar time management and organizational skills Works collaboratively and energetically Impeccable integrity and ethical standards Self-aware, accepting, honest, open, and respectful of others An undying commitment to personal growth and development Able to operate effectively even when information may be incomplete or limited Extreme formatting, organization and priority setting skills Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and teamwork Positive attitude, team player Highly motivated, comfortable working independently High energy, ownership of work product and dedication to driving results Other: Location: Pineville, LA Compensation: Competitive Other Benefits: medical, dental and vision coverage, PTO, sick days, and holidays, 401k matching Posted Min Pay Rate USD $60,000.00/Yr.
