You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, administer medications, and guide patients through their recovery journey. Registered Nurse (RN) Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care. Monitor patient progress and adjust interventions as needed. Provide compassionate nursing care in a behavioral health setting. Safely administer medications and educate patients on treatment plans. Respond effectively to psychiatric and medical emergencies. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and healthcare professionals. Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation. Support discharge planning and continuity of care. Delegate nursing responsibilities appropriately while helping guide and mentor support staff. Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment. Advocate for patient safety, dignity, and wellness. Qualifications Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or eligible Compact RN License. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred. Previous inpatient hospital or behavioral health experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced behavioral health environment. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care. Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire. Educational / Experience Requirements: Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of which you are employed at an Oceans Healthcare hospital. Valid Compact licenses are also acceptable as they apply. Minimum of an Associated Degree in Nursing is required. One year of inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred. Qualifications / Skills Requirements: Ability to adapt to a high stress environment and assess potential for patient escalation. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to consistently achieve positive results with internal and external customers, be highly organized, have an understanding and sensitivity to serve culturally diverse and special needs population such as Chronically Mentally Ill, Geriatric, CD, be versed in basic knowledge of normal physical and emotional development. Exhibits critical thinking abilities and applies them for continuous improvement of patient care. Demonstrates self-confidence and ability to think conceptually in leading and directing others. Must successfully complete CPR certification and an Oceans approved behavioral health de-escalation program. Work Environment: Subject to many interruptions. Pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. 12 hour rotating shifts. Can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere. Might experience disagreeable odors, sights and/or unpredictable patient behavior.
