Description

• Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric groups using standardized evaluations and observational assessments.
• Create individualized treatment strategies that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
• Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions that prioritize communication skills, language acquisition, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
• Work alongside physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to forge comprehensive care paths.
• Educate patients and their families to support ongoing progress beyond therapy sessions.
• Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the patient's recovery.
• Document patient progress accurately and in a timely fashion, adhering to all state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of evolving practices in the field.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized university.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
