Veterinary Receptionist Full Time

Newtown Veterinary Specialists is currently seeking client service representatives to join our team. We are looking for 1 full-time receptionist (40 hours). This position is for 7-3, 8-4, 3-11, 11-7, 4-12am, varying shifts, weekdays and partial weekends. Ideal candidates should be flexible to accommodate additional or varying shifts when needed. Holidays and weekends are a requirement.

Position Overview :

The Receptionist supports and adds value to an efficient organization dedicated to quality care and exceptional service. You will perform a variety of clerical and customer service work in providing support to the hospital, and to clients during frequent high stress situations.

Tasks include:

· Coordinate the flow of pets and owners in the lobby; placates owners distressed by long waits and other concerns.

· Identify potential emergencies in person, and over the phone, and schedule those appointments appropriately.

· Answering multi-line phone system.

· Coordinate and schedule appointments; provide clients with appointment reminders and any special instructions; call clients to confirm appointments.

· Checking in/checking out patients for various departments

· Able to learn basic veterinary medical terminology.

· Perform cashiering duties; ensure and payments are collected and process various forms of payments, collect deposits prior to procedures, run reports and balancing of cash drawer.

· Responds to inquiries about the range of services the practice provides and the species it treats; refer to appropriate department/staff member as needed.

· Update client records and ensure all contact information is up to date

· Receive and distribute incoming mail; and process outgoing.

· Documenting telephone and other messages as needed.

· Respond to emails; type and edit a variety of correspondence, and process faxes.

· Use of Windows based computer systems, Cornerstone veterinary software, email, copier, fax, scanning, google docs and various computer systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education, and/or experience.

· 1-2 years client service or reception experience preferred

· 1-2 years of veterinary experience is preferred, but not required

· Excellent phone, computer, and client service skills a must

· Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation and/or extended periods of time standing and/or walking.

· Some moderately physically demanding work, involving lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.

Schedule:

Shifts vary including holidays and weekends.

· 8 hour shift, 10 hour shift, 12 hour shift

· Day shift/Night shift

· Monday to Sunday

Pay: $17.5 - $20.50 per hour
