ANNOUNCEMENT OF COACHING VACANCY

Golf - Head Coach 2026-2027 School Year Qualifications Previous golf coaching experience is desirable. Previous experience in either high school, college or both is desirable. Knowledge of basketball and its rules, and ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport. Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues and other citizens. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred. Duties Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved. Maintain accurate records of squad lists, injury reports, scores of games, incident reports, and physical examinations. Provide guidance and counseling to squad members throughout the school year, addressing scholastic achievement, college entrance, and citizenship. Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate. Determine the athlete’s academic eligibility. Oversee safety conditions of the facility or area where the assigned sport is played at all times that students are present. Check safety of all equipment regularly. Enforce discipline and encourage sportsmanship, in accordance with standards set by the headmaster and head coach. Enforce rules of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association. Assist in the distribution and collection of all uniforms and equipment. Organize and post a daily schedule for the team and assistant coaches. Perform all other duties as the principal may deem appropriate. Stipend: $3,550 (position is contingent on number of students playing) Stipend amount reflects contractual rate from the 2022-2025 agreement with the Malden Education Association (MEA). Amount may increase pending MEA ratification and Malden School Committee approval of the Joint Labor Management Committee’s recommendations.
