Senior Software Engineer

Our client, a leading advanced nuclear energy company, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. This role builds Python and JavaScript web applications that support reactor design and construction operations.

Location: Bellevue, Washington - Onsite
Duration: 12 Month Contract
Compensation: $56 - $95 per hour.
Additional Compensation: This position is not eligible for bonus or incentive compensation.

Summary: This is a senior full-stack engineering role on a rapid-paced internal applications team. The engineer will ship features under a robust regulatory environment that supports nuclear reactor design and construction, with a stack centered on Python, Django, DRF, Vue3, and modern dev tooling. Onsite presence at the Bellevue office is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and ship web applications using Python and JavaScript.
• Develop back-end services in Django and Django REST Framework.
• Develop front-end functionality in Vue3.
• Write and maintain software tests across the stack.
• Use modern development tooling including git, IDEs, profilers, debuggers, test frameworks, and packaging tools.
• Deliver under evolving conditions in a rapid-paced regulated environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of Engineering.
• 6+ years of relevant web application development experience.
• Advanced programming skills in Python and JavaScript.
• 3+ years of in-depth Django and DRF experience.
• 3+ years of in-depth experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework such as Vue3.
• 3+ years of regularly writing software tests.
• Advanced capabilities with modern software development tools including git, IDEs, profilers, debuggers, test frameworks, and packaging tools.
• Ability to focus and deliver a challenging project under evolving conditions during rapid-paced development.
• Ability and professionalism to work within the robust regulatory environment of nuclear reactor design and construction.

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience working in regulated engineering or industrial environments.
• Comfort with rapid-paced delivery under evolving requirements.
