RN Emergency Room

Job Summary:

The ER Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced emergency room setting with a 15-bed main unit and a 6-bed fast track. The role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality emergency care. The nurse must hold a current Hawaii RN license and have at least two years of relevant nursing experience. Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments in the emergency room.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide care to patients across all age groups and populations.
• Manage patient flow between the main ER and fast track units.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide critical care support.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Hawaii.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience, preferably in emergency or acute care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in emergency nursing or critical care environments.
• Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.
• Trauma nursing certification (TNCC) or equivalent.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work day, evening, and night shifts as assigned.
• Ability to handle high-acuity patients and fast patient turnover.
• Work environment includes both a 15-bed ER unit and a 6-bed fast track area.

Scheduling:

• Rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights.
• Shift assignments determined by departmental needs.
