Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent Demonstrated success in the field of vehicle repair Mechanical expertise with at least three years of demonstrated success in repair of school buses or heavy duty trucks Communication skills related to working with students, staff and parents Current School Bus ASE certification is required Must be able to obtain a CDL with school bus and passenger bus endorsement as required by the state of Ohio Appropriate background checks Good organizational skills Computer skills – troubleshooting bus issues and documenting repairs/inventory using District software Responsibilities Maintenance and repair of all vehicles owned and operated by Mason City Schools. Successful development and operation of an effective preventative maintenance program. Development and maintenance of an effective record‑keeping and inventory system. Preparation of buses for the annual inspection by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Share responsibility with all mechanics for care of tools and equipment used in vehicle repair.
