Certified Surgical Technologist

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is responsible for providing skilled surgical assistance in a Level III trauma center with multiple state-of-the-art surgical suites. The role includes preparing the operating room, assisting during surgeries across various specialties including Orthopedics, Neuro/Spine, Robotics, Urology, GYN, ENT, and Plastics, and ensuring adherence to safety and sterilization protocols. The CST collaborates closely with the surgical team to facilitate efficient and effective surgical procedures while maintaining compliance with state licensure and certification requirements. Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
• Assist surgeons and surgical team during procedures across multiple specialties such as Orthopedics, Neuro/Spine, Robotics, Urology, GYN, ENT, and Plastics.
• Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
• Maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring functionality and sterility.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedules to provide surgical support as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient safety and surgical outcomes.
• Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate records as required.

• Active Colorado Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license issued by DORA.
• Certification in Surgical Technology from NBSTSA, AST, or NCCT.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 3 years of surgical technologist experience, including exposure to Orthopedics, Neuro/Spine, Robotics, Urology, GYN, ENT, and Plastics.

• Experience working in a Level III trauma center or similar high-acuity surgical environment.
• Familiarity with advanced surgical robotics systems such as Exactech, Mako, Stealth, and DaVinci.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills within multidisciplinary surgical teams.

• Must participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide surgical support outside of regular hours.
• Work environment includes fast-paced, high-acuity surgical suites with trauma cases.
• Compliance with all hospital and state regulatory requirements for surgical technologists.

• Full-time schedule working four 10-hour shifts per week.
• Rotating call schedule required.
