The candidate selected for this role will work within our Alaska Land Quality and Remediation Technical Discipline, assisting with a variety of functions related to contaminated site investigation and remediation. Preferable candidates will have experience in consulting and/or industry, preferably focused on Alaska projects. Positions in the Anchorage office also provide great opportunities for growth and gaining broad experience in site investigation and cleanup, environmental permitting and compliance, and air quality.Required Technical Skills and Experience:Bachelor of Science in Engineering6+ years of relevant work experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical skills, organizational, and multitasking skillsAbility to solve basic calculations and unit conversionsExperience presenting analytical results in tabular and graphical formsProficient with Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)Willing to commit to field assignments of up to two weeks away from AnchoragePossess valid driver's licensePreferred Technical Skills and Experience:PFAS remediationMS Degree in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental ScienceGroundwater, surface water, and soil sampling experienceSkill/experience conducting hazardous materials surveys and sampling.Experience in technical writingOSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER CertificationUnderstanding of industrial operations and equipment, large and smallKnowledge of Alaska environmental regulationsResponsibilities:Work with clients from a variety of industriesCollect groundwater, surface water, and soil samplesReview State, Federal, and Local regulations for applicability to site cleanupAssist other SLR teams with work in a variety of disciplines including air monitoring, waste management, permitting, and complianceTravel to clients' facilities for inspections and document reviewWork within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignmentsPersonal Attributes and Traits:Self-motivated and detail orientedComfortable with public speakingAbility to effectively prioritize work and contribute to project teamsExcellent time management skillsUnderstands budgets and deadlinesNeeds little oversight on common tasksDependable and predictableProfessional work ethicDiversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) are at the core of who we are and want to be.
