Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, using skillful and safe techniques.
• Prepare specimens for lab testing following established procedures while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
• Verify patient demographic information and ensure tubes are labeled correctly in the presence of the patient.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of collections and procedures.
• Create a trusting environment by explaining procedures clearly and professionally to patients.
• Perform specimen collection and processing duties in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
• Travel between multiple collection sites as needed to meet staffing requirements.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities efficiently in a high-volume environment.

Required Skills

• Excellent phlebotomy skills with experience in pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Ability to accurately verify patient information and label specimens correctly.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors.
• Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment under minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred, especially in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections; experience in a patient service center preferred.
• Flexible and available to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record are required if travel between sites is necessary.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities across different locations and adapt to changing schedules.
