About the Role
Kitsap Credit Union is searching for a Director of Lending Analytics and Secondary Markets. The Director of Lending Analytics & Secondary Markets is responsible for leading the enterprise lending analytics function while supporting the organization’s secondary market, loan sale, participation, and balance sheet optimization strategies across consumer, mortgage, business, and commercial lending portfolios.
This role serves as a key strategic and analytical leader within the Credit & Lending organization by transforming fragmented operational and portfolio data into actionable business intelligence that supports underwriting optimization, portfolio management, pricing strategy, loan sale execution, participation analysis, liquidity management, and overall balance sheet performance.
The Director of Lending Analytics & Secondary Markets will partner closely with the VP Enterprise Credit Management, VP Portfolio Performance & Recovery, VP Consumer Lending, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, and executive leadership to ensure timely, accurate, and meaningful reporting across all lending portfolios while supporting the organization’s growing focus on active balance sheet and secondary market management.
This role will also play a critical part in modernizing the organization’s lending intelligence capabilities, strengthening portfolio analytics, supporting loan sale and participation strategies, improving reporting integrity, and advancing the organization toward a more analytically driven asset management model.

Principal Accountabilities
Enterprise Lending Analytics
- Lead the development and administration of enterprise lending analytics and reporting frameworks across all lending products and portfolios.
- Develop standardized executive dashboards, portfolio scorecards, KPI frameworks, and performance reporting packages for executive leadership, committees, and board reporting.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and actionable insights related to:
- portfolio performance,
- underwriting trends,
- delinquency migration,
- charge-offs,
- recoveries,
- approval and capture rates,
- pricing effectiveness,
- concentration risk,
- vintage performance,
- and risk segmentation.
- Establish consistent reporting definitions and enterprise KPI standards across lending functions.
Secondary Market & Balance Sheet Analytics
- Support enterprise loan sale, participation, and secondary market strategies through detailed portfolio analytics and financial modeling.
- Analyze pools for potential sale, participation, securitization, or balance sheet optimization opportunities.
- Develop and maintain reporting related to:
- gain-on-sale analysis,
- yield optimization,
- liquidity impacts,
- CECL release impacts,
- concentration management,
- and capital considerations.
- Assist in evaluating forward-flow strategies, loan pool acquisitions, participations, and secondary market execution opportunities.
- Partner with Finance and Treasury teams to support balance sheet optimization initiatives and asset-liability management discussions.
- Support strategic initiatives related to tokenization, digital asset infrastructure, or alternative loan distribution channels as applicable.
Lending Data Governance & Integrity
- Serve as the centralized owner of lending data governance and reporting integrity across the Credit & Lending organization.
- Reconcile and validate data across core systems, LOS platforms, collections systems, reporting tools, and third-party applications.
- Identify and remediate inconsistencies, data gaps, reporting inaccuracies, and operational reporting inefficiencies.
- Develop controls and governance processes to improve confidence in lending data and reporting outputs.
- Partner with Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, and Operations teams to improve enterprise lending data architecture and accessibility.
Portfolio & Credit Performance Analytics
- Perform detailed analysis across:
- product types,
- vintages,
- credit tiers,
- channels,
- dealers,
- borrower segments,
- and geographic concentrations.
- Identify emerging trends, underwriting drift, loss drivers, performance anomalies, and portfolio optimization opportunities.
- Support enterprise credit risk monitoring and second line of defense reporting initiatives in partnership with the VP Enterprise Credit Management.
- Support collections and recovery analytics initiatives in partnership with the VP Portfolio Performance & Recovery.
- Develop predictive and behavioral analytics to support early warning monitoring and proactive portfolio management.
Strategic Decision Support
- Provide analytical support for:
- pricing strategy,
- underwriting changes,
- policy modifications,
- dealer/channel management,
- loan sales and participations,
- reserve forecasting,
- CECL discussions,
- and balance sheet optimization initiatives.
- Assist executive leadership in evaluating strategic initiatives using data-driven analysis and forecasting.
- Develop scenario analysis and stress-testing models to support risk and capital management discussions.
Reporting & Visualization
- Develop and maintain executive-level dashboards and automated reporting tools.
- Improve the speed, quality, and accessibility of portfolio and production reporting across the organization.
- Build reporting frameworks that support both operational management and strategic decision-making.
- Partner with business leaders to identify reporting needs and prioritize analytical initiatives.
Technology & Process Modernization
- Support implementation and optimization of:
- AI-enabled analytics tools,
- workflow automation systems,
- data visualization platforms,
- and enterprise reporting technologies.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting and analytical processes.
- Support modernization of lending intelligence capabilities as the organization evolves toward a more centralized asset management model.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across Lending, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, IT, Risk Management, and Executive Leadership.
- Serve as a trusted analytical advisor to senior leadership.
- Mentor and develop analytical talent as the function expands over time.
- Foster a culture of accountability, analytical rigor, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Statistics, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in lending analytics, portfolio management, secondary market activities, credit risk analytics, financial analysis, or business intelligence within a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of consumer, mortgage, business, and commercial lending products and portfolio dynamics.
- Experience with loan sales, participations, secondary market analysis, or balance sheet management strategies.
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with ability to interpret complex data and identify actionable insights.
- Experience building executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, and portfolio reporting tools.
- Strong proficiency in data analytics and reporting platforms such as:
- SQL,
- Power BI,
- Tableau,
- Excel,
- or similar business intelligence tools.
- Strong communication skills with ability to present complex analytical findings to executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications and Education
- Credit union or regional banking experience preferred.
- Experience supporting CECL, stress testing, reserve forecasting, or portfolio modeling initiatives.
- Familiarity with loan participation structures, whole loan sales, securitization concepts, or digital asset/tokenization initiatives.
- Experience working with AI-enabled analytics or predictive modeling tools.
- Familiarity with lending platforms such as Origence, Temenos, collections systems, and core banking systems.
- Master’s degree in Analytics, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field preferred.
- Experience building or modernizing enterprise lending analytics functions preferred.
Supervisory Status
This position does not supervise others.
Working Conditions
This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:
