Research Assistant

Position Overview The Research Assistant will assist the Dean or a Faculty member of the Law School with various projects by utilizing library and internet resources to research topics and then summarize the findings. This position involves in‑depth legal research and writing projects assigned by the Dean or a Faculty member. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Legal research and writing. Assist with projects as assigned by the Dean. Data collection and analysis. Literature review. Engage in ongoing communication with the Dean. Qualifications and Credentials Current enrollment in Liberty University School of Law. Must be in good academic standing. Legal research and writing experience. Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong ability to work with and learn a variety of computer systems. Abilities and Competencies Strong legal research and writing skills. Ability to discuss and document research progress. Ability to work independently. Strong organizational skills. Excellent computer skills. Problem solving: analyze information and apply judgment. Physical and Sensory Abilities Required to sit for extended periods, perform deskwork, and type on a keyboard. Require hearing and speaking for effective oral communication. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs. Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds. Working Conditions The working environment is a climate‑controlled office setting that is well‑lit with a moderate noise level. Driving Requirements Use of a personal vehicle or university vehicles is required for travel. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required. Employment Details Time Type: Part time. Location: Onsite.
