Quality InspectorPosition DetailsSchedule: Monday-Thursday from 5:30 AM-4:00 PM Shift: 1st / 2nd Overtime: Based on business needsWhat You'll DoYou will inspect trailers and components during sub-assembly and final assembly to ensure conformance with quality and safety standards.Inspection & Quality Monitoring:Monitor manufacturing quality of trailers, parts, and sub-assemblies in accordance with:Company quality assurance standardsEngineering drawings and specificationsCustomer requirements and regulatory guidelinesPerform inspections on trailer assembly lines and sub-assembly areas as assignedVerify conformance of inspected items and assemblies to drawing and specification requirementsOperate inspection and test tools including but not limited to:Brake test machinesLight testersABS testersTape measures and hand toolsMan lifts, bumper jacks, and other inspection equipmentDocumentation & Corrective Action:Record acceptance or rejection decisions accurately, clearly identifying inspection resultsDocument rejection reasons clearly to support investigation and corrective actionsAssist management in initiating corrective actions when quality standards are not metMaintain daily reporting on all units released from sub-assembly and final assemblyCommunication & Collaboration:Maintain constant communication with assembly line managers regarding quality concernsEscalate repeat or systemic out-of-spec issues promptlyProvide ongoing product quality feedback to leaders whose teams impact final product qualityWork collaboratively with manufacturing employees and leadership to support quality improvementSafety, Productivity & Professional Expectations:Perform all tasks in a safe, efficient, and highly productive mannerFollow all company safety policies and proceduresAttend scheduled work hours reliably and maintain good attendanceSupport mandatory overtime as requiredContribute positively to a team-focused quality culturePerform other duties as assignedWhat You BringEducation:High school diploma or equivalent (based on education and work experience)Licenses & Certifications:FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) certificationRecertification required every two years (mandatory)Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Basic computer skillsFluent in English (spoken and written); bilingual skills are beneficialStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively with:Manufacturing hourly employeesSupervisors and managers at all levelsStrong attention to detailAbility to identify root causes rather than focusing only on defectsCore CompetenciesDetail-oriented: Consistently attentive to specification and compliance requirementsMotivated: Maintains enthusiasm and ownership of quality outcomesOrganized: Manages inspections, documentation, and reporting systematicallyTraining & Development:Company-provided training, which may include:Utility and golf cart operationAerial lifts (Genie, Wave, manlifts)Trailer specifications and engineering drawingsQuality assurance inspection proceduresOperation of measuring, testing, and inspection equipmentWork Environment & Physical Expectations:This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
