As a Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you are responsible for performing high complexity laboratory testing (next generation sequencing) on patient specimens, performing quality control and quality assurance procedures, and reporting patient results. You’ll comply with all applicable local, state and federal laboratory requirements and operate under the direction of the Laboratory Director and Laboratory Supervisors. This role requires meticulous and organized records, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and be flexible with tasks and schedules.Must be available to work onsite Saturday - Tuesday from 6am - 4:30pm (AM Shift 4x10 Schedule)Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Accurately perform molecular testing, using a variety of molecular biological techniques including next generation sequencingConduct daily quantitation and qualification assessment of molecular data generated during testingCarry out QC/QA activities as part of the Quality program and commitment to patient safetyParticipate in a variety of other essential laboratory activities, including reagent qualification, inventory management, procedure writing, inspection preparation, assay validation and investigationPerform and document routine preventive maintenance and independently identify and troubleshoot highly complex problems that adversely affect test performanceIdentify root cause and document all corrective actions taken when test systemsAssist with training of new laboratory personnelParticipate in introduction of assay improvements, new assay configurations and validationAt times, this position may fill the role of the general supervisor if the general supervisor is off-siteEssential Qualifications:Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Clinical Genetic and Molecular Biology Scientist (CGMBS) licenseBachelor of Science in Biomedical Laboratory Science, Clinical Science or related field4-6 years of experience in a CLIA certified laboratoryWorking knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulationsExperience in molecular testing, nucleic acid extraction, PCR, and sequencing (next generation sequencing)Working knowledge of laboratory functions (laboratory regulations, LIMS, Quality, etc.)AI & Digital FluencyDemonstrate curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to critically evaluate and responsibly leverage AI-enabled tools in accordance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of work.Hybrid Work Model:This section is applicable to onsite employees who are eligible for hybrid work location as specified by management and related policies.
