Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Summary:

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of industrial machinery and equipment through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs. This role involves a broad range of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance tasks in a manufacturing or industrial environment. The technician will work independently and as part of a team to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic malfunctions and breakdowns.
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems in a timely and efficient manner.
• Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment, connections, and functionality.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams to perform maintenance and repairs accurately.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as needed for repairs or modifications.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Identify and implement improvements to maintenance procedures and equipment to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
• Collaborate with production and other departments to address equipment issues and minimize disruptions.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Stay updated on technical advancements and best practices in industrial maintenance.
• Train production personnel on basic equipment maintenance tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as an industrial maintenance technician or mechanic.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
• Basic welding, fabrication, and machining skills are a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and accessing technical information.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb, bend, and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with specific types of industrial machinery or equipment relevant to the employer's industry.
• Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems.
• Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Certifications in relevant maintenance areas.
