Registered Nurse - Operating Room Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 7am - 5:30pm, flexible to evenings if needed Experience: 2+ years of current OR experience, travel experience License: Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate required Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: EPIC experience Float experience to vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotics, urology, ENT Scrub and circulate experience Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Permanent address must be included in the profile Description: EPIC experience is required. Please note experience upon submission to prevent delays. You must include your New York temporary health care service agency license/registration certificate upfront with all nursing submissions. This license is required by the state of New York in order to staff for temporary needs. A thorough 14-panel drug screen is required within 24 hours of offer acceptance. Operating Room Nurses provide surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing the nursing care patients receive before, during, and after surgery. Activities may include patient assessment, creating and maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment, pre and post-operative patient education, and monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being. Strong skills in vascular surgery and orthopedic surgery are a must. This is primarily a circulating position, and scrub experience would be an additional skill. Patient population includes pediatric to adult. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. The facility has 14 operating rooms with coverage in labor and delivery for C-sections. Currently, care is provided in all surgical specialties except cardiac and ophthalmology. An average of 50 procedures are performed daily. Requested time off during the course of this assignment must be noted during submission. No weekends are required. Call is required at a rate of 4 hours per month if needed.
