Required Education

Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program. OR Six months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant. Six (6) hour x-ray training certification Or letter from the employer. CPR/BLS card

Ideal for individuals seeking flexible, intermittent work opportunities Work will be offered on a short-term, project-by-project basis We are looking for a Dental Assistant to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. This person will handle a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations that range in complexity and skill with plenty of room to learn and grow. All aspects of the job require an exceptional level of customer service and communication skills. Responsibilities include ensuring a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by meticulously following prescribed procedures and protocols. Preparing patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient. Serving as a key communicator within the practice, providing valuable information and support to both patients and colleagues through responsive interactions. Providing instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments. Providing materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth. Providing diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts. Maintaining patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations; cleaning and polishing removable appliances. Helping dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory. Educating patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions. Documenting dental care services by charting in patient records. Maintaining patient confidence and protecting operations by keeping information confidential. Demonstrating dedication to upholding a safe and hygienic work environment by strictly adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations. Protecting patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Conserving dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Other duties as assigned.
