Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

The General Production Worker plays a crucial role in manufacturing both residential and commercial windows. This position involves assembling components, operating production equipment, and performing quality inspections to ensure windows meet safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble window components including frames, sashes, glass units, hardware, and weatherstripping.

• Operate production equipment such as saws, welders, glazing stations, CNC machines, or assembly lines.

• Handle and install glass safely following company and OSHA safety guidelines.

• Measure and inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.

• Read work orders, drawings, or production specifications.

• Apply sealants, fasteners, and hardware as required.

• Package and prepare finished windows for shipment.

• Maintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with 5S standards.

• Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use and glass-handling protocols.

• Identify and report defects, equipment issues, or safety concerns to supervision.

• Assist in other production areas as needed to meet production goals.

Essential Skills

• Experience in window, door, or glass manufacturing.

• Proficiency in production, general labor, assembly, and machine operation.

• Ability to operate hand tools, drill presses, and other machinery.

• Competence in packaging, inspection, loading, unloading, and assembly tasks.

• Familiarity with using a tape measure for precise measurements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Vinyl welding, glazing, or fabrication experience.

• Forklift or material-handling equipment experience (or willingness to be trained).

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
