THERAPIST (MA/MSW)

Therapist Position

The Therapist is responsible for diagnosing and treating individuals with mental health issues, employing various therapeutic techniques to promote emotional well-being and personal growth.

Job duties and responsibilities include:

• Implementing goals and objectives for residents/patients based on the established program philosophy and resident/patient treatment plan
• Providing individual guidance and direction designed to help residents/patients meet the goals in their treatment plan
• Maintaining high quality of documentation of all casework consistent with facility policies
• Providing case management services

Qualifications requirements include:

• Master's degree in social science, such as counseling, psychology, or social work required
• Two or more years' experience in a mental health setting working with children and/or adolescents is preferred
• Basic understanding of and comfort level with medical terminology, residential treatment, clinical science/pathology, and psychiatric disorders
• Ability to gather and analyze data
• Articulate, assertive, and able to communicate effectively with families, payers, therapists, and physicians both verbally and in writing
• Ability to acquire clear understanding of treatment priorities and ability to make sound decisions balancing resident and family needs with available resources
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)

Physical requirements include:

• Ability to stand, squat, kneel, sit, and lie on the floor for long periods of time
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. of weight
• Ability to climb, run, and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to read, write clearly, talk, and listen
• Ability to verbally de-escalate and physically restrain patients/residents when necessary
