Commercial Refrigeration Technician

Why this role is different Mix of hands‑on repair, system troubleshooting, and facility support Opportunity to grow into Facilities or Regional leadership roles Be part of a rapidly growing operation in a $100B+ industry Independent problem‑solving with support from engineering and senior technicians for escalations What you’ll do Perform preventative maintenance and complex repairs on commercial refrigeration systems (WIC/R, Walk‑Ins, Reach‑Ins) and HVAC systems (Accurex, Captiveaire, Trane, Carrier) including RTUs, exhaust fans, hoods, make‑up air units, and DOAS systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues across multiple sites. Facility Operations Support Travel between multiple sites throughout the week across the Greater Bay Area. Conduct site inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. Handle basic electrical and plumbing maintenance as needed. Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and warranty work. System Performance & Troubleshooting Use Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor performance and diagnose issues. Provide remote troubleshooting support to onsite teams and vendors. Review startup, testing, and balancing reports to verify system performance. New Site Support Assist with new facility openings by verifying installation and system functionality. Identify issues early and coordinate corrective actions. What we’re looking for Required 5+ years of commercial refrigeration and HVAC experience. HVAC Universal certification (EPA, trade school, or equivalent). Expertise in Walk‑In Coolers/Freezers (WIC/R) and specialized refrigeration equipment; additional experience in RTUs and ventilation. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally between sites. Preferred Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or multi‑site facilities. Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems. Passion for the fast‑growing online food delivery industry. Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn and grow with the team.
