Business Development Manager

AvtechTyee is searching for a Business Development Manager with strong sales experience and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to help position our company for new growth and improved social responsibility. Technical expertise would be a real plus. Your Primary Responsibilities Work closely with the Business Unit Managers to develop & execute new business strategy Identify and track profitable new business opportunities through market analysis Maintain an understanding of the market, the competitive landscape and market share Develop and execute effective strategies to win competitive proposals while value-selling Operate within budget Develop relationships at new business accounts while maintaining good long standing relationships with key accounts. Work closely with engineering to understand technical aspects of products and provide technical support to customers as needed. Provide monthly sales reports to management Effectively communicate during emails, telephone calls, in-person visits and presentations Travel globally as needed Prepare for and attend annual sales events such as trade shows and IA renewals Maintain an organized time and territory plan to effectively visit customers at their facilities Deliver trip reports after each visit and prepare pre-trip reports as needed Communicate customer needs to management and the BU teams Build new business cases that include market intel, cost, margin, and potential sales volume Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business field of study Leadership/Management experience preferred Travel 70% of the time Comparable sales experience with increasing responsibilities Experience selling highly engineered products in a low-volume, high-mix environment preferably aviation/aerospace Preferred experience manufacturing and selling products regulated by: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Export Administration Regulations (EAR) Must be authorized to work in the U.S.** This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization** Benefits 9/80 Work Schedule – every other Friday off Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance Company-Paid Life and AD&D Insurance Company-Paid Short- and Long-Term Disability HSA with potential company contribution, and/or FSA/DCFSA 401(k) with 3% match with no LOS requirement Accident/Hospital Indemnity/Critical Illness Coverage Auto/Home, Legal, Identify Theft, and Pet Insurance Allowance for Safety Glasses Allowance for Safety Shoes 10 Company-Paid Holidays Education Reimbursement Paid Time Off Paid Volunteer Time Off Referral Bonuses Quarterly lunches and other events Bonus The wage/salary range for this role is $115k - $150k, depending on education and experience.
