Automation Support Engineer

Natera seeks an Automation Support Engineer in Austin to implement and maintain automated systems for R&D and clinical diagnostics laboratories. The role involves supporting liquid handling robots, documenting qualification procedures, coordinating cross-functional teams, and optimizing laboratory workflows.

Responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot liquid handling robots including qualification procedures
• Build expertise on hardware and software of multiple automated liquid handler platforms
• Prepare documentation for equipment qualification, operating procedures, and standard operating procedures
• Oversee functional and validation testing of automated laboratory equipment
• Provide user training, troubleshooting, and ongoing technical support to end-users

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or related scientific field; Master's preferred
• 2+ years laboratory automation engineering experience required
• Technical proficiency with robotics and liquid handling systems in life sciences
• Computer programming experience or basic method-writing knowledge required
• Experience with automated storage systems preferred
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills
• Flexible schedule and self-initiative required
