Firefighter Inspector/Maintenance Engineer

The Firefighter Inspector/Maintenance Engineer assists the Fire Marshal with ensuring Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation is compliant with OSHA, NFPA, and the Connecticut Supplement laws and codes for fire protection system and life safety systems. Duties include structural and aircraft rescue firefighting, hazardous material response, confined space rescue, entering IDLH atmospheres, providing emergency medical treatment, participating in fire prevention programs, continuous improvement processes, completing written inspection reports, fire extinguisher inspections, testing and minor maintenance of fire alarms and related equipment, inspecting, testing, and operating fire department vehicles and rescue boats, receiving and dispatching alarms, routine station cleaning assignments, and other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications: Connecticut State Certified Firefighter II, Connecticut State Certified EMT, Class Q or a Class "B" CDL with a "Tanker" endorsement. Desired Skills: Fire Department, Firefighting, and Rescue Service experience from a Military, Municipal, Airport, Industrial, or Organized Volunteer Fire Department. Inspector or Fire Marshal experience preferred but not required. Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week.
