Salary: $16.94/Hour Hourly Pay Range: $16.94 - $22.70 Job Type: Part-time Benefits Tuition and gym reimbursement Emergency assistance funds Paid time off Referral bonuses Retirement plan contributions Overview Goodwill Store Associate may be trained on all non‑management aspects of store operations. Under the general supervision of the Store Manager, the Retail Store Associate is responsible for assisting in overall store operations including receiving and processing donations, completing sales transactions on the POS system, displaying items, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for donors and shoppers. Special Requirements Typically required to work regular weekend (Saturday, Sunday), holiday, and evening hours customary to the retail trade. Responsibilities Sort, price, and display merchandise for sale. Discard unsellable merchandise appropriately (Outlet, Salvage, Trash). Apply Goodwill techniques to maximize used goods processing and meet production goals. Follow store rotation schedule for pulls in assigned areas. Provide timely and courteous customer service to shoppers, donors, and employees. Maintain sales floor appearance, cleanliness, and shopping environment (floor care, fitting rooms, registers, aisles, trash receptacles, lamps, restrooms, showcases, windows, doors). Assist with general light maintenance on building exterior and parking lot (windows, doors, sidewalks, parking lot lights, landscape). Assist shoppers with locating and selecting merchandise. Complete sales transactions accurately and promptly on the POS system. Accept donations and greet donors at their vehicles; offer receipts. Assist shoppers by carrying large items to vehicles after sales transactions. Protect Agency assets such as cash and jewelry at the cash wrap. Maintain store premises free of safety hazards, adhere to safety, health, and emergency procedures. Use designated staging area for “Z” racks and keep aisles uncluttered for emergency exits. Wear required PPE when completing tasks. Spread ice melt and shovel sidewalks, loading docks, and donor area as assigned. Report theft or wrongdoing observations. Assist with loading/unloading trucks and document internal transfers. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Physical Demands Stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear regularly. Occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 100 pounds; push crates weighing up to 600 pounds on flat or sloped surfaces. Assist customers with large or heavy items. Use hand trucks whenever possible. Vision: close, distance, and color vision required. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred; 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, brief correspondence, and memos. Mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning ability to apply common sense and follow written or oral instructions. Operational skills: hand truck, straddle stacker, electric pallet jack, or other material handling equipment (if available). Knowledge of safety procedures and PPE usage.
