At Behavioral Health Allies Early Intervention (BHA EI), Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) are essential clinical leaders dedicated to empowering young children and families through compassionate, evidence-based early intervention services. BHA EI BCBAs provide individualized, play-based, and developmentally appropriate Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities. Through collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams, BCBAs design and oversee treatment programs that promote communication, social-emotional development, adaptive skills, independence, and school readiness.

BCBAs serve as clinical leaders within the Early Intervention program by conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, coaching caregivers, supervising staff, monitoring progress through data analysis, and ensuring clinical excellence across all environments. They foster supportive and structured learning experiences that empower children and families while promoting long-term success across home, clinic, school, and community settings.

This is a safety-sensitive position. Employees must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including maintaining continuous supervision of children, implementing crisis prevention and intervention strategies, responding to behavioral escalation, and assisting children with activities of daily living as needed.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, Psychology, or related field

Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification and Missouri and Kansas LBA license

Completion of BACB-approved 8-hour supervision training

Minimum 2 years of experience supporting children with developmental disabilities or behavioral needs preferred

Experience within an early intervention, clinic, educational, or pediatric setting preferred.

Experience supervising RBTs, BCaBAs, or clinical staff preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Organizational and time management proficiency

Emotional resilience and professionalism in high-pressure situations

Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, FBA/BIP development, and data-based decision-making

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data collection systems

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and ethical professionalism

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems

Key Responsibilities:

Approach every child and family with empathy, dignity, patience, and high expectations.

Recognize that behaviors serve as communication and implement interventions that prioritize understanding and skill-building.

Develop individualized treatment plans that reflect each child's developmental needs, strengths, interests, and family priorities.

Provide compassionate support to families navigating evaluations, diagnoses, and developmental concerns.

Model calm, supportive, and therapeutic interactions during moments of behavioral escalation or emotional dysregulation.

Structure Builds Safety

Create structured, predictable, and developmentally appropriate learning environments that foster emotional regulation and engagement.

Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), skills assessments, and developmental evaluations.

Design proactive treatment plans and behavior intervention strategies that support safety, learning, and developmental progress.

Train staff and caregivers on consistent implementation of routines, reinforcement systems, prompting strategies, and behavior supports.

Ensure all therapy environments remain safe, organized, clean, and conducive to learning.

Professionalism in Every Moment

Maintain professionalism, ethical conduct, confidentiality, and respect in all interactions.

Maintain compliance with BACB ethical standards, payer requirements, licensing regulations, and BHA policies.

Complete all documentation, assessments, treatment plans, supervision notes, and progress reports accurately and within required timelines.

Participate actively in interdisciplinary collaboration with speech therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, educators, and other providers.

Provide ongoing clinical coaching, feedback, and supervision to RBTs, BCaBAs/LaBAs, and other assigned team members.

Communicate openly and professionally with families, team members, and leadership.

Foster a positive, encouraging, and strengths-based therapeutic environment.

Celebrate developmental progress and meaningful milestones with children, families, and staff.

Support staff and families through challenges with optimism, flexibility, and solution-focused problem solving.

Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor during changing clinical demands or high-stress situations.

Promote engagement, motivation, and joy within therapy sessions and team interactions.

Education is Empowerment

Utilize evidence-based, play-based, and developmentally appropriate teaching strategies.

Provide caregiver coaching and parent training to increase carryover and generalization across environments.

Educate families on developmental milestones, behavioral principles, communication strategies, and skill acquisition techniques.

Use ongoing data collection and analysis to guide treatment decisions and maximize child outcomes.

Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education to strengthen clinical expertise and remain current on best practices.

Train staff on ABA principles, behavior analytic interventions, and clinical procedures.

Consistency Creates Change

Ensure treatment fidelity through regular observation, data review, staff feedback, and clinical oversight.

Collaborate closely with caregivers and interdisciplinary providers to maintain consistency across clinic, home, school, and community environments.

Monitor treatment progress regularly and modify interventions based on data and clinical outcomes.

Maintain dependable communication and follow-through with families, staff, and leadership.

Ensure all services are implemented consistently in alignment with BHA standards and clinical expectations.

Reunification is Our Mission

Support children in developing the foundational skills needed for long-term success in less restrictive and natural environments.

Develop interventions that increase independence, communication, adaptive functioning, emotional regulation, and school readiness.

Collaborate with families, schools, and outside providers to support smooth transitions into preschool, school-based, and community settings.

Promote generalization of skills across people, settings, and routines to support long-term developmental success.

Assist families in preparing for future educational and therapeutic transitions.

Advocacy Through Action

Advocate for the developmental, behavioral, and communication needs of young children and families.

Support families in accessing services, resources, and educational supports.

Collaborate with caregivers to remove barriers to participation and progress.

Serve as a clinical advocate during meetings, interdisciplinary collaboration, and transition planning.

Promote inclusion, dignity, and individualized support for every child and family served.

Other Duties

Perform other duties and special projects to support Academy and organizational initiatives as assigned.

Conduct staff training, supervision, and performance evaluations as assigned.

Complete all documentation, billing, and reporting requirements in accordance with BHA and regulatory guidelines.

Participate in required meetings, trainings, and clinical collaboration opportunities.

Maintain required certifications, licensure, and continuing education requirements.

Record and maintain billable documentation according to organizational and payer requirements.

Participate in crisis response and clinical triage as needed.

Uphold BHA's mission and values in all work performed.
