Vehicle Mechanic *OPEN RECRUITMENT*

Job Summary

The job of Vehicle Mechanic is done for the purpose/s of supporting the educational process by providing mechanic services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and replacement needs; performing repairs and preventive maintenance; ensuring completion of projects in accordance with trade standards; operating a school bus if needed; providing information on the proper uses of equipment; assisting other mechanics; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site.

SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process will include screening to ensure application is complete and applicant meets minimum qualifications. The process will include a written exam on July 7, 2026 for all qualified applicants. Passing score is 70%. The district-wide eligibility list is valid for one year and will be used to fill full-time and substitute positions in this classification. The top three ranks of candidates will receive a departmental interview. Additional interviews will be conducted in rank order until all open positions are filled and as vacancies become available.
